Do you think this is a MOM of what Deepu thought…. yeah ofcouse we have those details at the last… But first things first……
At last the first meet to discuss a myth ( Cognos 8 installation ) which Deepu alone knows came live. And astonishingly everyone had time to Jump into this meet. Hats off to Deepu for making every lecture or training related to Cognos a usefull one.
What he discussed is simple Critical issues faced during the installation and how to go about this… Guys dont fear of any Cognos installation in your feature .. we know Deepu and his mail id…. enough… done deal…
He really tried hard to explain the architecture without an architecture diagram .. but a diagram in the air… .. I donno how many layers/tiers he managed to keep in air.
The best part he had a movie to explain some concepts… a new way of handling and explaining a concept.. a round of applause for you Deepu…But we want ( personally me more than C8 installation ;-b ) to know how to do that.. may help.

I can do the same and all of us can use it for our reference. But after doing this installation i realy feel there are some basic thiings which are missing which we really need to know going forward before interacting with serverops team or webservices team. Say like hw to determine mountpoint,how do determine load in server,how 2 find subprocesses for a parent proces .. to name a few. I feel Hari is the best person who can take us thru this and it will be better if he can enlighten us about this in one of our 20min session of KnowM. Dude , I have already raised my hands on ur behalf. so lets get on with the show (courtesy BSB)…………..!!!!!!!!!!

Determining the load in Cognos and managing the Cognos server on performance perspective would be a good topic to discuss. During the C8 training they have new features to manage load…. Will those features be helpfull … or can we do some stuff from server side……like tweaking the server performance , monitoring load etc …Hari may help in this……

In offshore many people are not able to connect to datasource for both crn and Cognos 8…
Cogudar error, firewall rejected , falied to connect to multiple DB instances are mostly encounted Errors in offshore….
its will be useful if we we could display all the resolutions for the aboved mentioned errors in this page..
